Pryce Scott is a nonbinary queer person raised by the rolling hills, towering sagebrush, and skittering blue-bellies of Douglas County, Nevada. They grew up believing that every person does the best they can with the resources they have, which might mean there are skills, knowledge, or resource gaps that need to be filled. Facing opportunities to provide learning experiences that humanize an “other,” Pryce has become what they refer to as “Professionally Queer.” They have sat on numerous educational panels regarding topics such as inclusive pedagogy, campus culture, self-advocacy in medicine, and basic LGBTQ sensitivity. They have also sat on the board of the Queer Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno, organized events such as “Gaysgiving” for students afraid to be themselves at home, and taught lessons on safe binding. They currently work as a Benefits Specialist at Northern Nevada HOPES and are responsible for onboarding training regarding health equity for transgender and gender diverse patients, and educating staff how to utilize their employee benefits to the max. When not laying their lived experience bare to the world, they can generally be found at home, logging countless hours on story-heavy video games set to the lowest difficulty setting possible.

Speaker Introduction
Pryce Scott, Benefit Specialist
Northern Nevada HOPES
Kelsey Meno, Chief Operating Officer
Alpha Productions
Seven years ago, my husband and I moved from Utah to Reno. I’m a proud graduate from Utah State University, equipped with a B.S. in Cultural Anthropology. For most of my career, I’ve been deeply involved in the realm of human services. I’ve worn many hats- from working with adults with disabilities to supporting at-risk youth, teens, seniors, and hospice patients.
When I’m not in the thick of things at work, you’ll find me indulging on the couch, playing video games with my cats nearby. My dogs help me enjoy the winters by taking me on walks. I love to read and am currently obsessed with the vast catalog of Ray Hogan Westerns. As an experienced wedding officiant, I’ve performed weddings in four different states.
My professional journey has recently seen me transition from the Employment Specialist Manager at Alpha Productions to my current role as the Chief Operating Officer at our sister company Disability Resources. Here, my aim is to elevate our employment program and make a lasting impact on the community.
Throughout my career, I’ve realized that many employers lack the experience and knowledge to support their employees with disabilities. With expertise in training, development, and relationship-building, I forge partnerships with employers, government agencies, and community organizations, working towards greater workplace inclusion for people with disabilities.
