Roadmap to Becoming a Best Place to Work:
The Secret Sauce

As we look ahead to the milestone 20th Annual Northern Nevada Best Places to Work, join us for an energizing and insightful session designed to help you elevate your workplace culture and position your organization for success.

Whether you’ve participated before or are exploring the opportunity for the first time, this is your inside look at what it truly takes to become a Best Place to Work, and why it matters.

You’ll hear directly from Karyn Jensen, founder of the Northern Nevada Best Places to Work program, as she shares the story behind one of SHRM Northern Nevada’s most celebrated and impactful initiatives. For many in our community, this program has become more than an award, it’s a roadmap for building stronger, more engaging workplaces.

But this session goes beyond history.

We’ll dive into actionable strategies and proven insights from Quantum Workplace, the experts behind the Best Places to Work survey, and leaders in workplace culture and employee engagement. Together, we’ll explore what top-performing organizations do differently—and how you can apply those same principles in your own workplace.

Karyn will break down the science and strategy behind the survey process, clarify what it really takes to qualify and compete, and debunk common myths that may be holding organizations back from participating.

Most importantly, you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how to intentionally design a workplace where people thrive—because becoming a Best Place to Work isn’t just about recognition, it’s about creating a culture people want to be part of every day.

What You’ll Gain:

  • A deeper understanding of the business and cultural benefits of engaging in the program
  • A strategic roadmap for building a high-performing, people-first workplace
  • Practical, actionable steps your organization can take starting today to improve engagement, elevate culture, and increase your chances of becoming a finalist—or winner—in the 20th Best Places to Work
  • A behind-the-scenes look at the history and impact of the Northern Nevada Best Places to Work program
  • Clear insight into Quantum Workplace survey requirements and how results are evaluated

This is more than an informational session, it’s your opportunity to reimagine what’s possible for your workplace and take meaningful steps toward becoming a truly exceptional place to work.
